Embarking on a design project in an unfamiliar industry necessitates a strategic approach to quickly acquire domain knowledge. Throughout the design process, I dedicated approximately half of my time to user research, recognizing its critical role in developing a product that truly meets user needs. Engaging directly with users allowed me to uncover their behaviors, preferences, and pain points, providing invaluable insights that guided design decisions. This iterative process of testing and feedback ensured that the product evolved in alignment with user expectations, reducing uncertainty and risk prior to launch. Simultaneously, consulting with industry experts, particularly in product growth, offered deeper insights into market trends and challenges. This dual approach facilitated a comprehensive understanding of the domain, enabling the creation of effective, user-centric designs.
